• A Book heirloom gives a bonus to Knowledge, when picked as your Empire heirloom.
• You can get a Book heirloom from Expeditions or Trade missions.
• The Value, Rarity and bonus, depend on the name of the heirloom and any upgrades.

  • expeditions after you research Exploration; and
  • Trade missions after you research Trade.

• You can sell a heirloom for its Value in Shards
• Rarity determines the chance to get a heirloom and its colour.

Effect

You must pick a Book heirloom, to be your Empire heirloom, to gain its effect.

When stored, the heirloom does not provide a bonus.

Other

• The chance to get a Book heirloom is:
  • 1 in 1 000 after a Trade mission;
  • 1 in 2 000 if you encounter and defeat enemies, on military Expeditions; and
  • 1 in 20 000 as an expedition find.

• You take heirlooms to your new lands if you explore a new continent.
